What to expect at the first session: Coming to therapy for the first time can be scary because most people are feeling vulnerable. I appreciate this and will help you to feel comfortable in expressing yourself. First, I will briefly review the paperwork with you and the legal aspects of confidentiality. After that, I welcome you to share what brings you to therapy now. I will explore with you what you would like to work on and your goals. I will ask you some questions about your history and will take some notes, as I don't want to lose any important details. I will give you the opportunity to reflect on what it is like to be in therapy with me. The first session usually includes collaborating on a plan for how we will approach our work together.
Parking: There is plenty of street parking.
My office is on the second floor. Please have a seat and make yourself comfortable in the waiting area when you arrive.
